Fixed for the future in Eoan 19.10 with:

ktouch (4:19.04.0-0ubuntu2) eoan; urgency=medium

  * debian/rules: Pass DQt5QuickCompiler_FOUND=OFF to configure, so we
do not pre-compile qml. This ensures the application will continue
to run when used with a newer version of Qt, and not require a
rebuild on each Qt upgrade. (LP: #1827767)

19.04.1 release will have an COMPILE_QML option we can switch to.

For Disco 19.04, I will prepare a stable release update upload to make the same change.

Thanks for taking care of this!

Will there also be an update for Disco 19.04?

You mentioned this, but it does not seem to have happened yet....

Hello Kuh, or anyone else affected,

Accepted ktouch into disco-proposed. The package will build now and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ktouch/4:18.12.3-0ubuntu1.1 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug, mentioning the version of the package you tested and change the tag from verification-needed-disco to verification-done-disco. If it does not fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-failed-disco. In either case, without details of your testing we will not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in advance for helping!

N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s) fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in -proposed for a minimum of 7 days.

Yes, I have verified that the new version in disco-proposed, namely version 4:18.12.3-0ubuntu1.1 does indeed work again!

Thanks a lot!
