Bug Description

Binary package hint: partman-base

When preseeding, some preseed entries are required to be in the same locale as was selected for debian-installer/locale. This makes it extremely difficult to support multiple language installs. The entries in question are:

d-i partman-auto/init_automatically_partition \
select Guided - use the largest continuous free space

d-i partman-auto/choose_recipe \
select All files in one partition (recommended for new users)

  * Backport from trunk (LP: #181296):
    - Support preseeding questions asked through ask_user using the name of
the plugin responsible for the answer you want (e.g.
      partman-auto/init_automatically_partition=biggest_free).

Once this all propagates to CD images (which may also require a ubiquity rebuild, so give it a few days), the equivalent to your example will be as follows:

  d-i partman-auto/init_automatically_partition select biggest_free
  d-i partman-auto/choose_recipe select atomic
