kvm uses wrong vgabios with no support for wide screen modes

Bug Description

Binary package hint: kvm

starting with kvm 59. a custom built vgabios is being used by kvm which adds support for wide screen modes.

the file in the original tar.gz pc-bios/vgabios.bin has been provided for convenience and should be used instead of the one from vgabios and the dependency dropped.

if you want to build vgabios from sources then execute in the top level directory (as done for bios):

  $ make vgabios

this only affects hardy and any future backport that would use kvm>=59

I've added this support to the vgabios package. There's no point in
having both kvm and the vgabios package provide the vgabios images.

Thanks for your bug report!

Having two identical vgabios images provided by two different packages is definitely subopimal, and this is definitely a way to solve that problem.

Using the patched vgabios for kvm also in bochs and qemu (that hadn't been tested with it) and that depend in vgabios could (even if very unlikely) be a source of instabilities.

I fail to see your point. We are in a development cycle. We do things
and test them out to see if it works as expected. Besides, every(!)
change starts its life by being untested. By your logic, we should never
change anything since it hasn't been tested.
