Bug Description

current build number: 105
device name: frieza
channel: ubuntu-touch/rc-proposed/bq-aquaris-pd.en

but same problem on krillin

Some apps don't start on frieza (guitar tools, tuner beta). There is only a splash screen and a spinner.

Temporary workaround: delay starting audio recording a split second, or until Component.onCompleted in your root QML element.

This differs from bug 1578665 because here the application surface is not even created before the prompt comes up (actually, it's not created until the prompt is dismissed).

In bug 1578665 the application gets to create its surface but doesn't draw on it until the prompt is dismissed.
