Chris J Arges (arges) wrote : Please test proposed package

Hello James, or anyone else affected,

Accepted ceph into trusty-proposed. The package will build now and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ceph/0.80.11-0ubuntu1.14.04.1 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug, mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in advance!

Looks like this hit a
"g++: internal compiler error: Killed (program cc1plus)"
error on arm64. I poked seelaman to re-run the build. Hopefully it builds the second time around.

It sounds like the arm64 build failed due to insufficient ram on the builders. That seems to have now been resolved, as the respin build completed. I'm now waiting on a launchpad op to publish the packages to proposed.

I was able to spin up a ceph 0.80.11 cluster and it seemed to work fine. Should I mark it good to go, or is other testing pending?

How can we tell if https://github.com/ceph/ceph/pull/6525 is in this release? OpenStack ceph jobs have started randomly failing, see bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/cinder/+bug/1551305
