This is a result of PulseAudio changed port names, in 6.0 I believe. We need to adjust unity-settings-daemon accordingly.

Patch to resolve the bug (and cause a regression on PulseAudio < 6.0, so don't backport to trusty).

For some reason launchpad didn't want me to push to a branch today, so I'm uploading the patch here instead.

Thanks David, that looks fine but a branch would be handy since the project is going through CI landing and sort of need a merge request for that ... what error do you get trying to push your changes?

Also is the name likely to change again? Could we get an autopkgtest somewhere to let us know that u-s-d needs updating next time?

That is a good question and I understand your concern; but I think the likelyhood of the port names changing again is relatively low, and writing a test for it is relatively hard (not sure how to convince PulseAudio that the autopkgtest server has a headset mic). So I think for this case it is better to spend the time fixing more bugs instead :-)
