external monitor grid units are not set correctly so the desktop is incorectly scaled.

this is less a bug, and more lack of feature implementation - it's being worked and should show up soon

in the mean time, any way to change the grid uints on the fly - i.e run a command without rebooting? This could be put in one of the tweak tools till autodetection is implemented - an on/off switch for desktop sized units

On the UI Toolkit side, the introduction of MainWindow (bug 587431) makes units window-specific - so long as Unity (or QtUbuntu, more specifically) provides the right value, the resolution will be correct.
