Bug Description

I just did a completely clean install of Vivid and after installing gnome-flashback and logging into it all the programs that are supposed to be in the "Administration" and "Preferences" sub folders of "System Tools" are in "Other" in the menu. Very annoying!

There is obviously something wrong after installation when "updating menus".

This patch fixes the issue. After applying it I only have one item in "Other" menu, though I still have six items in "Misc" menu.

Alberts, what do you think about it?

Should be good... There is already 'X-GNOME-Settings-Panel' so adding 'X-Unity-Settings-Panel' sounds like good idea.

But I am thinking about if we should add some patches from gnome-menus (only not sure if we need them):
1) 08_settings-menus.patch
2) 09_games-menu.patch
3) 11_science-menu.patch

I don't like the idea of adding new submenus as we already have too many of them. Also, I see nothing Ubuntu-specific in these patches so I will be only fine with them if they are applied upstream.

My patch above for X-Unity-Settings-Panel is one-line and won't hurt upstream, so maybe you can commit it to git as well?

Either it hasn't been fixed or it doesn't fix an already jumbled menu.

Even worse, it has messed up the alternative menu applet in EXACTLY the same way that I was using as well.

Is there some way to refresh the menu in some way?

Have you upgraded to -3ubuntu9 (uploaded an hour ago) or -3ubuntu8 (uploaded yesterday)?

Still some issues remain.

Other -> Network Connections, should be under System Tools
Other -> Personal File Sharing, should be under System Tools

System Tools -> Preferences -> Additional Drivers, should be under System Tools -> Administration
