Hey! I was just linked to this bugreport, it never made it up to xfdesktop. Can you provide the output of:

xfconf-query -c xfce4-desktop -lv

Can you also open xfce4-settings-editor and right click on xfce4-desktop and select the monitor option, then launch xfdesktop-settings and see if notices any changes? I'm just trying to pin down exactly where this issue is in the code so we can fix it for you.

Thanks!

Hi,

I have this issue, except the color gets reset to black, not to 7f0000.

It does not. The only output from it is:

Thanks.

I pushed a patch to xfdesktop that should fix the issue eveyone was seeing. There was a little mixup between my color1s and color2s which means it was looking for the color settings in the wrong places. If someone can test it out and verify that was the only problem with that section that would be great.

    settings: Fix background color loading

The issue was launching xfdesktop-settings changed the
wallpaper background color, either to black or #7f000 or
    some other color.
There's a bit of a mixup in the code, there's color 2s where
there should be color 1s. With these corrected the colors
should properly be loaded and old versions should be migrated.
Bug reported to launchpad but never sent up to xfce's bugzilla:
