Bug Description

I tried to dial into a company conference call.
It asked for my conference call number, which I typed in then pressed '#'
It kept asking me, so I assume it didn't receive my keypresses.

I tried to reproduce this by calling my personal voice mail and found that the tones were being recognized by the receiving system however I could not hear any tones as they were dialled.

Can you try the Canonical voicemail system? I just tested again and it doesn't work for me.

Confirmed this is an issue on Galaxy Nexus. The tones are actually sent, as I was able to join a conference call and enter a pin code. However there were no sounds being played and no feedback on the keypad that I pressed the numbers.

Should fix to do the following:
- the keys should show pressed/unpressed state on the live call view just like they do in main keypad
- the numbers that are pressed should show up in the entry field as confirmation
- the tones should be audible

@tiagosh
Please at least do the visual design part first not related to the actual tones:

@bfiller the keypad buttons on the live call view already have visual feedback (pressed/unpressed). Also, can you point us in the spec where this entry field in the live call view should be? I can't find it in the specs/visual designs.

Copying my comment from bug 1187453 when running on mako

This may be a timing thing depending on how fast you type, it does not seem very consistent.
It definitely does not occur when long deliberate presses are used.

Turned debug on in ofonod then
tail -f /var/log/syslog | grep DTMF

You will often see the number of the phone app UI but not in the log

So don't see an entry field in the spec, I was wrong. But after playing with iphone I think we should replace the number in the header with the keys that get pressed.
