Bug Description

Error occurs on 3 different computers,
1. Windows 7 Home premium, custom built tower
2. Windows 7 Professional, custom built tower
3. Windows 7 Home premium, HP laptop
     Operating system is kept update on all 3 by automatic Microsoft updates.

OpenLP - version 2.0.1
LibreOffice - version 4.0

Error Message: on Friday August 9, 2013 still occurring on Sunday August 11
Download Error
There was a problem downloading your verse selection.
Please check your Internet connection and if this error continues to occur please consider reporting a bug.

Bible - Good News Translation
Verses - Genesis 15:1-6 / Luke 12:32-40
Also tried other books and verse combinations with the same results

Using Bible import the only place I was able to find and obtain Good News verses is through web download / Crosswalk /
American Bible Society. This has worked for the past 12 to 14 months.

Last successful download was on Friday August 2, 2013

I have not tried other Bible versions since our congregations does use them.

I am not sure how to obtain "debug logs" or traceback for Open LP. Attaching the Openlp.log file that I found.

Hi JerryP40, that's the right log file. Can you run OpenLP in "debug" mode (there should be a link in your Start menu, if my sources are correct), reproduce the problem, and then upload that file again please?

The page loaded immediately. This has been my work around, I highlight
the versus I need, copy them, then paste them into a custom slide. A
little editing to make them friendly with my projection scheme and I am
good to go. It is just much easier to click on the bible tab, tell it
what I want, search, put the results into my service.

I apologize for the delay in responding. My computers were down for
upgrade and maintenance.

I just now started OpenLP, clicked on bibles and was able to do a search
for Genesis 15:1-6 successfully. I will try others but I am sure they
will work also.

The log file said you were getting a "Not Allowed" error from the server. My guess is that they try to restrict the number of times a particular computer accesses the server in order to prevent automated bots from harvesting the entire Bible.

I was able to search for and download this weeks scripture and ad it to our service in place of the copy/paste slides I had created.
It seems to be back to "normal". I would like to find a copy of the Good News Translation that could be downloaded, free or purchased, but I have not found one yet. It would be nice to have it resident like the bibles that come in the OpenLP program download. I have found a couple, particularly the NRSV version that we use occasionally . The GNT is our congregations chose for our pew bible.

Thank you once again for your help, I believe this problem is resolved.

This problem is not resolved for me!
I can download from some translations, but no longer from Good News translation.

I CAN get to the translation via http://www.biblestudytools.com/

Not sure where or how to find the log file.

At least some translations work. But Good News does not.

I can reproduce it too, and if I change the User Agent string, it seems to go away.

Hi Richard, OpenLP is emulating a browser but wasn't identifying itself as such to the web site, which is what "user agent" refers to. As you can see, this bug has been targeted to an unreleased version of OpenLP, which we hope to release in the next few weeks. This new version will resolve your issue.
