Bug Description

If I start synaptic twice, two error-messageboxes popup. The first one is fully
translated into German:

Konnte Lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock nicht bekommen - open (11 Die Ressource ist zur
Zeit nicht verfügbar)

The second one not:

Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), is another process
using it?

I think, the two messages mean the same, maybe you could just drop the second
and add "Wird es etwa von einem anderen Prozess benutzt?" to the first one?

Thanks for your bugreport. It looks like the second message is not translatable
at all (this is actually a problem in libapt that synaptic is build upon). I'll
fix this soon.

recent versions of synaptic do not allow that you start them twice and they have
better detection if another package manager is already runing. I close this bug
therefore.
