regression - shadow clipping/missing/delayed on menus

I agree it's a bug. Sam says it's a feature because Unity design requests that menu shadows be clipped against each other. This code has not changed in a long time so it's not a recent regression.

Still, duplicate of bug 979252.

Hmm, I think this particular *instance* is a bug. I think at the moment we
don't clip the shadows *of* transformed windows but we do clip the shadows
of nontransformed windows against transformed ones.

what can i do to help you guys fix this bug?

It consistently happens on my machine, so if there are any tests / information that i might be able to provide - i can do so, at your request.

right now, i just add shadows = 'none' to the decoration plugin in CCSM - which still provides shadows for windows, but not for menus, which is okay ~ aside from pop-up menus which look much better with shadows (if they didn't clip).
