Bug Description

Occurs both on amd64 and i386 server upgrade from precise to quantal (latest 20120911)

The following files are left

 /etc/update-manager/release-upgrades
  /etc/update-manager/meta-release
  /etc/update-motd.d/91-release-upgrade

This should have been taken over by ubuntu-release-upgrader-core. In fact I suspect it probably was and dpkg just hasn't noticed.

Oh, in fact, ubuntu-release-upgrader-core wasn't installed. That would be a simple matter of an extra Depends to fix.

This bug was fixed in the package update-manager - 1:0.173

update-manager (1:0.173) quantal; urgency=low

  * Make update-manager-core depend on ubuntu-release-upgrader-core and
    update-manager-kde depend on ubuntu-release-upgrader-qt, so that
    functionality isn't lost on upgrade (LP: #1049062).
