Thanks a lot for your work on this. Do you think you could forward this change to Debian instead? It'd be great if we could avoid introducing a delta between Ubuntu and Debian and instead just sync the package from Debian. http://developer.ubuntu.com/packaging/html/fixing-a-bug-example.html should give you some pointers on how to do that.
