When passing orientation metadata to the framework, only the current device rotation should be included, without any compensation for the natural/mounting orientation of the sensor.

Trust what the framework tells us about the natural (i.e. mounting) orientation of the sensor within the device. If it is wrong for some devices, then it needs to be corrected at the driver level, not here.
