make-manpage-repo.sh: Some actions shall not consider the pocket

By introducing pockets to the configured series paths and URLs ended
up also including the pocket in places where this was not intended.
Strip anything after a dash in the series name and pass that to the
functions accordingly.

I can't rewrite it at the moment, but since the script messed around
with global bash variables too much breaking execution in many cases
I've changed all function variables to explicit local variables
reducing the unexpected interactions a bit.
