Recent revisions

14. By Scott James Remnant (Canonical)

* debian/rules: install as nvidia-kernel-nkc.conf
* debian/preinst: remove on upgrade if unmodified
* debian/postinst: otherwise replace at new path

13. By Bhavani Shankar

* Merge from debian unstable, remaining changes: LP: #310462
  - debian/preinst: replace 20051028+1+nmu2 with 20051028+1+nmu2ubuntu1.

12. By Timo Aaltonen

control: drop Recommends again, it would otherwise pull nvidia-glx-173
in and break 3D for many.

11. By Timo Aaltonen

[ Alberto Milone (tseliot) ]
* Merge from debian unstable, remaining changes (LP: #254264):
  - debian/preinst: replace 20051028+1+nmu2 with 20051028+1+nmu2ubuntu1
    since 20051028+1ubuntu8 is the version whose existence we need
    to check in Intrepid
* Remove debian/postinst

10. By Timo Aaltonen

* Fakemerge with debian unstable. Current version number in Debian
is lower than ours, so can't do a "proper" merge.
* Change maintainer address.
* 20051028+1-0.1:
  "Added option to /etc/modprobe.d/nvidia-kernel-nkc to set
  correct device permissions (CVE-2007-3532) (Closes: #434398)."

9. By Adam Conrad

Revert the modprobe hacks in favour of a more generic solution in
linux-restricted-modules-common, which should work for both nvidia
and fglrx, as well as selecting nvidia/nvidia_legacy correctly.

8. By Scott James Remnant (Canonical)

Use the /.../I GNU extension to sed to match and replace
case-insensitively instead of using /usr/bin/tr, otherwise people with
/usr on a separate partition won't get the nvidia/nvidia_legacy modules
loaded.

7. By Scott James Remnant (Canonical)

Employ the most evil hack known to mankind to check xorg.conf and
fail to load the nvidia or nvidia_legacy modules if no device is
using the "nvidia" driver.

6. By Adam Conrad

Drop Recommends on nvidia-kernel-source | nvidia-kernel, as you aren't
too likely to get this package installed in the first place on Ubuntu
without it being pulled in by linux-restricted-modules's dependency.

5. By Scott James Remnant (Canonical)

Add forgotten versioned-dependency on sysv-rc to get new update-rc.d
behaviour. Go me.
