This now fixes the crashing described in bug lp:1264506. I just very dirty check if SyncService has some undefined variables and if so, just dismiss all the sync stuff and do a normal appstart

SyncService now extends Service, this way we can assure that this class and all its threads running are within the Android lifecycle and will be destroyed if the app is destroyed. This is a dirty hack - we should convert all our messaging etc to the Service framework
