Hey Peter! Thanks for your patch.
However, we don't touch for both legal and tracibility issue the upstream tarball directly. We try to stage the fix in a distro patch (and report it upstream).
Looking at this package, it seems to me that your patch would be better in the debian/diff/ directory. Can you please propose another branch with that? (and also indicates where you push your change upstream?)
