Merge work from simpoir and dgoulet:
* greeter now hides Guest login button when unsupported by the current backend
* fixed regression on guest login and autologin
* lot of cleanup to plugin code
** extraction of common plugin functions
** no more global structure
** simple API for conversing with greeter
* more verbose log errors
* ensure window manager gets killed before session starts
