Updated several variable executions from `` to $() and make wget more reliable.

- WGET will now preserve the filename on download, so URLs that are dynamic (or SourceForge) will save the file properly
- A seperate directory is created per download instance, as forcing -O is a bad design in general
- It seems dash favors $() over backticks, so updating all references as this seems to be the standard
