Use a for loop and set -e to fail the build when msgfmt fails -- find
-exec doesn't fail the build when the command fails.

Pass --check-format to msgfmt to verify C format strings match between original
text and translation for strings tagged as C-format. Rosetta is also
enforcing this, but it's best to have this safety in place.
