Also removed the `w` variable because it looks like the auto-resize fix
can be applied without calling gtk_paned_set_position twice.

Fix left pane in dual pane mode reverting to minimum width

This also fixes the trash bar resizing the left pane. I used printf to
check the value of the `w` variable, and it was always logging 0 in
`create_extra_pane`. Deferring the repositioning seems to correct this.

is makes the final aligned position more closely match the drag
actor's apparent position.

snapping a semi-positioned icon. This was causing the free position
check to potentially check the wrong grid spot, causing shifting
