A full build of the kernel with all the debugging symbols enabled
requires ~40GB (measured using a single flavor build). To reduce the
disk space required during the build we can compress the debugging
information enabling CONFIG_DEBUG_INFO_COMPRESSED.
The downside of enabling this option is that the final debug .deb
package is actually bigger, due to the debug info being compressed with
zlib and the object files being re-compressed with a different
compression algorithm (xz by default). However, this is still preferable
than using compression "none" for the deb which would make the debug
.deb package even bigger.
In general this option allows to save some space on the build servers at
the cost of using a little more space in the archives because of the
bigger dbgsym package.
