compositor: write an acceptance test that tests that the render code is overridable and gets called when a surface is introduced. This required the publication of SceneElement, which must be accessed to draw the scene.

Fix cursor position off by half a pixel during screen zoom.

This was only slightly annoying in the past. But now using zoom as an aid
to view lag, precision is more important.
