pass the mirror directly to germinate

The previous code was broken when using a remote mirror and I have no
idea why it was like that. But it dates from 2006 so maybe there was a
reason then.

Drop snapdragon and i386 builds for core16 and core18.

The kernel snaps were deleted Oct 18 and don't appear to be coming back,
so stop trying to build these images.
