-summary = First Tag Wiki Edit
+summary = First Tag Wiki Edit. Ask Ubuntu has tags that split questions into different groups. These tags allow the site to remain organized and help users by allowing them to subscribe to or ignore topics they might find interesting or wish to ignore. Each tag has an associated wiki page called a tag wiki. This page describes the tag, how it's used on the site, and anything the community might find useful about that topic. It is the bridge for that subject between Ask Ubuntu and other canonical references to the subject on the internet, the ideal tag wiki contains many links to other resources.
steps: <a href="http://askubuntu.com/tags">Find a tag</a> you want to contribute to and click on it.
Click on "improve tag wiki".
Improve the excerpt and description.

-summary = Created a tag used by 50 questions
+summary = Created a tag used by 50 questions. Ask Ubuntu is organized by tags. Each question can have up tp five tags. Users can subscribe to tags they are interested in by hovering over a tag and subscribing to it either via email or RSS. Users can also mark certain tags as "favorite" or "ignored" on the right side of the front page to tailor the front page to their interests. As a user earns more votes in each tag the front page will adjust it's algorithm to present unanswered questions that that user with questions from tags they're most experienced in. In order for all this to work people need to create tags that are useful for this purpose.
steps: Simply enter a new tag with your question and it will be created.
When creating your new tag, bear in mind that tags have a maximum of 25 characters and must use the character set a-z 0-9 + # - .
tips: This badge is difficult to get due to the site already having tags for most topics.
- Only create tags that people would subscribe to.
+ A good tag is one people would subscribe to without fragmenting the subject into multiple tags. Better to have one maintained "firefox" tag than one for each release of Firefox, for example.
pitfalls: Don't create useless or <a href="http://blog.stackoverflow.com/2010/08/the-death-of-meta-tags/"meta tags</a>, the community has to then police up the junk tags, making it more work for everyone.

+summary = Zero score accepted answers: more than 5 and 20% of total. This badge is awarded to recognize people who answer the user's questions but aren't receiving upvotes from their peers. This can happen when answering highly detailed or specific questions that not many people will be able to understand, or in a subject area that might not get as much user visibility as other topics.
steps: Answer questions that get accepted by the person who asked it.
If more than 5 of your answers are marked as accepted answers but have gotten 0 votes from your peers and 20% of your total answers you get this badge.
-tips: This badge is awarded to recognize people who answer the user's questions but aren't receiving upvotes from their peers. Consider publicizing your answers to get them some deserved attention.
+tips: Consider publicizing your answers to get them some deserved attention.
pitfalls: If someone notices how great your answers are and starts upvoting your answers you may never get this badge.

-summary = Asked a question with no votes, no answers, no comments, and low views for a week
-steps: You get this badge if your question is largely ignored.
-pitfalls: Edit your question to add more information over time.
+summary = Asked a question with no votes, no answers, no comments, and low views for a week. This badge means that few people have even bothered to read your question. This is usually because the title to your question is not detailed enough and your question has scrolled off the front page and into obscurity. With some quick edits you can quickly turn this badge from a consolation prize into a solid start for getting an answer to your question.
+steps: You get this badge if your question is largely ignored, more from inaction than specific steps.
+tips: Edit your question title to be human readable and descriptive. Questions like "Firefox Problem" or "12.04 internet proxy" make no sense to most people and are likely to be ignored.
+ Edit your question's to add more information over time. What resources did you stumble upon and read? What search engine queries have you tried? Have you found other people on the internet that have posted their problems on forums? Collate all this information together in your question.
Each edit bumps your question to the top of the site, giving you another shot at an answer. Since each of your edits add more information the more edits you do the better your question will become.
Hit the twitter and Google+ icons on your question to spread it's reach outside the site.
- Add links to other information and resources on the web that you've investigated so that people trying to help you aren't recommending something you've already tried.
+pitfalls: If you don't edit your question usually the question will be ignored. If you don't want your question to be buried don't abandon it, keep adding detail.
