Misc work to bring the plugin up to scratch, added testcases.

Add git plugin testcases & better support testmode in the plugin.
Fix revert for whole notebook use case - REQUIRES TESTING.
Fix get_version, so now page restore should work correctly - REQUIRES TESTING.
Fix off-by-one error in diffs.
Remove some unneeded TODO comments.

Plugin is at a stage now where it should be feature complete, needs git users to
*backup* their notebooks and test their workflow to verify it’s all good.
