PPA description
This PPA hosts FreshPlayerPlugin builds made on upstream code daily.
ATTENTION!
USE THIS PPA AT YOUR OWN RISK!
This PPA will overwrite previous installations of freshpluginplayer.
You can disable this PPA with ppa-purge, in case.
NOTICE:
From 2016/02/12, the official Debian/Ubuntu packages naming convention is done.
If you already had installed the package, you can simply update and remove the transitional one with:
sudo apt-get remove freshpluginplayer
FOR HARDWARE ACCELERATION
From Precise upwards, VA-API seems working with official libraries.
I tested VA-API with an Intel HD 4000 on Precise (12.04) and it works, so I suppose it will work also on newer Ubuntu versions.
For VDPAU, you need instrad an updated version of libav/ffmpeg. I packaged a working version of libav here: https://launchpad.net/~itachi-san/+archive/ubuntu/ffmpeg
It seems that the updated libav is needed just for VDPAU hardware accelleration, but I'm not sure.
Adding this PPA to your system
You can update your system with unsupported packages from this untrusted PPA by adding ppa:itachi-san/freshplayerplugin to your system's Software Sources. (Read about installing)
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:itachi-san/freshplayerplugin
sudo apt update
