Thanks a lot for your work on this. Do you think you could forward this change to Debian instead? It'd be great if we could avoid introducing a delta between Ubuntu and Debian and instead just sync the package from Debian. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Debian/Bugs#Using_submittodebian_to_forward_patches_to_Debian should give you some pointers on how to do that.
