What do you mean by backport? I uploaded this to our PPA for trusty and utopic.

An offical SRU will be next to impossible (http://docs.getpelican.com/en/3.5.0/changelog.html#id1 does not quite match https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates).

If we're after an official Ubuntu backport, users will have to enable it themselves too (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuBackports).
