BTW in principle I think you can have all that. You do the shoe horn, have @ alias to :tags:, use the existing viewer. Then later you write a new viewer, possibly even eliminating the actual wiki pages. You can also have the hierarchy allowed by the link system but still allow meta cross searching on anything between to colons in your future super-duper viewer system. The markup of the tags themselves never needs to change, so you can re-write viewers anytime you want. Just a thought.
