Release notes 

The Xibo development team are proud to announce the availability of Xibo 1.0.0 release candidate 3.

The 1.0.0-rc3 release of Xibo builds on the 1.0.0-rc2 release and addresses a number of issues reported to us. These are detailed in the change log below. Many thanks to everyone who reported bugs.

1.0.0-rc3 includes several improvements to handling of non UK timezones.

A large proportion of the work involved in getting Xibo in to the FOSS world has been done by Dan Garner, who deserves much of the credit for the project as it stands.

UPGRADING:
There are upgrade notes provided in the CHANGELOG file. Please note that 1.0.0-rc3 is NOT database compatible with 1.0.0-rc2 and is NOT compatible with 1.0.0-rc2 or earlier versions of the client. Please ensure you upgrade your complete system.

KNOWN ISSUES:

        Workaround available. Clients showing RSS Tickers will slow after extended periods on a single layout
lp:341634 - https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/341634
       The background on FlashMedia items is solid white, even if the flash file supports transparency. This is a limitation of the Adobe Flash control. We are looking at ways we can work around this.

1.0.0-rc3 - Third Release Candidate.
This is primarily a series of bug fixes based on user feedback. We would like to thank everyone who reported bugs for their invaluable help.

1.0.0-rc3 is NOT compatible with databases from 1.0.0-rc2 or earlier. Databases are converted as part of the upgrade process.
1.0.0-rc3 server REQUIRES 1.0.0-rc3 clients. Please upgrade all your clients to the new version.

UPGRADING:
 * Backup settings.php from your installation
 * The upgrader will attempt to backup your database, but manually taking a backup would be a good idea.
 * Replace your existing installation with the new version from the tar.gz or zip file
 * Replace your settings.php file
 * Browse to http://your.server/path as normal
 * You will be prompted that an upgrade is required.
 * Enter your xibo_admin password, and follow the upgrade wizard.
 * You will be asked if you consent to us collecting some anonymous statistics about your use of Xibo. Please read the following article for a full explaination of what is collected and why: http://xibo.org.uk/2009/03/05/xibo-statistics/
 * The upgrade should run, and finally ask you to log in as you would normally.
 * Please then check the following things:
    * Management -> Settings -> Default.
          Check that a sensible default timezone has been chosen. If not, please set this to match your server locale.
