@Alex: Yes, a mysterious issue popped up as described in bug #1335482. There is a fix in trusty-proposed (soon in trusty-updates), and it would be great if you could install language-selector-common 0.129.2 and language-selector-gnome 0.129.2 from trusty-proposed and let us know if it fixes the issue for you.
