I have the problem with "Xfce4 Power Manager does not restore screen power" on Intel NUC mini-system. My solution is based on other suggestions:
1. press CTRL+ALT+F1 to go to the console and login
2. sleep 10; xrandr --auto --display :0.0
3. press CTRL+ALT+F7 to go back to X screen
4. wait 10s and the picture appears
