I have a the same problem with the Dell Vostro V13. Mine works fine until I suspend. After suspension I get the exact same error with the touchpad.

SOLUTION:

The 3.2.0-18.28 finally fixed the problem. I am testing 12.04 beta and did a straight apt-get upgrade. The problem did not return (though my wired networking stopped working for some reason). This makes me happy since this issue has prevented me from using Linux across all distro's for many iterations of the kernel in the last year.
