Comment 2 for bug 397544

I'm having the same problem on my Jaunty, after updating software through Synaptic, "total hang" it is. Only the hard disk grind makes me realise the machine is still running, I believe the process uses up all my memory as well as swap space. So is there a way to disable apt-check?
