stutters "when the scope views are not launched/cached yet" is this something we have ideas for? or are we stuck with a particular threading model here causing the rendering to get choked on the network & jpg decode?

also @faenil I'd be interested in your numbers on "bad frame rate for Music" (and i presume also krillin?)
