The change is not trivial, and I'm concerned that it can have impacts that we can't totally manage at this late stage of the development cycle.

I propose to document a workaround in the release notes, consisting in moving the wine .desktop files to one of the XDG directories we monitor.

In parallel, we can try and test the different solutions that are proposed, provide that in a PPA to be later propoesd as a SRU.
