Well, yeah, kinda - the idea is that such temporary mounts really are non-persistent => they belong somewhere in /run instead of a top-level like /media (although on Fedora, /media was already on tmpfs since F15 or so).

Just for the record I also don't think that having a "standard" mandate where removable media is mounted is in any way useful for users or distributors.
