then upgrade your system (which will upgrade udev), and report back how it goes? If it still does not work, please describe the kind of medium which you inserted, open a terminal, and do

   sudo /lib/udev/cdrom_id --debug /dev/sr0

(with the medium inserted) and copy&paste the output. Thanks!
