Thanks, so cdrom_id is definitively wrong here.

Can you please do

  sudo strace -vvfo /tmp/cdrom_id.trace -s 1024 /lib/udev/cdrom_id /dev/sr0

and attach /tmp/cdrom_id.trace here?
