Comment 42 for bug 652852

OK testing this AM with the 03/29 i386 iso-testing image and after choosing the side-by-side option no new window popped up indicating what the installer was going to do, so I kind of freaked out.

At this point I noticed that the option to quit the install no longer existed. I didn't notice yesterday if the quit option existed or not.

Anyway, I clicked on the back button and it did go back - kind of - the screen indicated it was going back but I could tell by the progress bar and the sound of the optical drive that the installer was installing, or partitioning.

As I said above, I kind of freaked out, so I just hit Alt>SysReq>B to reboot. As it turns out the installer was basically doing the preferred thing. I began with my typical two drives:

So things were actually going OK, /dev/sda had been left untouched, and /dev/sdb had begun with:

Note: sdb1, 2, and 5 made up a typical Ubuntu install, and I'd previously added sdb6 as casper-rw to do persistence testing. And the free space between sdb1 and sdb6 was pre-existing.

So the installer had created sdb7 and sdb8 in the existing free space properly, but my concern is that there was no typical "review screen" showing what it was going to do, or offering the option to use the advanced partitioner.

Is that intentional?

Also, as I said, I didn't notice if the "quit" buttons were present or not in yesterdays build. Were they removed intentionally?

I have some errands to run this AM and I'll await your advice as far as filing a new bug report, etc.
