I can report that the problem is still there. I use Linux Mint which is largely based on the Ubuntu repositories
How does one compile a .deb package from the source code? It sounds like the solution has been identified, the appropriate fixes just waiting to be compiled, but nobody's made the package yet.
Is it really that simple or is there more to it than that?
