The attached "patch" worked for me.

Or just run

# sed -i "/^SRCEXPR/{s#=.*#='http://sourceforge.net/p/smartmontools/code/HEAD/tree/\$location/smartmontools/drivedb.h?format=raw'#}" $(which update-smart-drivedb)
