When my karmic system boots, I get this message on the console:

"Rather than invoking init scritps through /etc/init.d, use the service(8) utility, e.g. service S20rsyslog start

Since the script you are attemping to invoke has been converted to an Upstart job, you may also use the start(8) utility, e.g. start S20rsyslog
start: Unknown job: S20rsyslog"
