I had the same error, while I was upgrading from 7.04 (Feisty) to 7.10 (Gutsy), my computer didn't answer i had to
shutdown by pushing 5 sec on the button
After restar i got that problem

PS : sorry, you certaintly saw that i don't write english very well, i'm french speaker sry again...
