Yes. There will be a js-1.8.8 release based on esr17 asap.

We'll focus on an esr17 (pre-IonMonkey) release first. Although esr17 doesn't include IonMonkey, it does have JaegerMonkey with TypeInference, which should still be a huge speedup over 1.8.5.
If we track JS source releases to ESR releases, the first JS release that would include IonMonkey would be based off esr24 around November 2013.
