I was having the same problem UNTIL I disabled ipv6 (I don't use IPV6). Now it boots fast...

Disable IPV6:

gksudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/aliases

from:

    alias net-pf-10 ipv6

to

    alias net-pf-10 off

There is a tweak for firefox that disables ipv6 also...
